The Cordillera Real (Royal Mountain Range) is a spectacular setting for hikes. From its mountain passes one can descend through the lush semitropical valleys of the Yungas along some of the most impressive and well preserved pre-Colombian roads of South America , such as the well-known Choro and Takesi Trails. Choro (Chucura) From high summits of the Real Mountain range is born one of more beautiful the pre-Columbian ways, in good state of conservation. ItineraryChoro Trail "Difficulty level"Duratión (4 days / 3 nights)Day 01 :Private transportation to the Pass (Cumbre) (4,650 meters above sea level) where the hike will begin. The descent is via a magnificent Incastone road until you reach Callapampa (3,200 meters altitude). Day 02 :The descent continues through Choro where you will begin to feel the warmth of the semi-tropical climate of the Yungas. Day 03 :You will continue to hike along the Incaroute through coca, fruit and coffee plantations and Inca terraces.
We will camp at Sandillani in the garden of a Japanese hermit. Day 04 :Arrive at the town of Chairo in the morning. From here you can choose public or private transportation to Corioco or La Paz ItineraryTakesi Trail "Easy hike"Duratión (3 days / 2 nights)Day 01 :Private transportation to the San Francisco Mine. Ascent to the Takesi Pass at (4,650 meters altitude) and descending then to the town of Takesi , via a magnificent pre-Hispanic trail. Camp overnight at 3,700 meters. Day 02 :Descend along the trail through fields of ferns, many varieties of flowers, dwarf orchids and begonias to the lower warmer altitude. Day 03 :Arrive at the Chojlla Mine before noon and then hike on to the town of Yanacachi . From here, there will be transportation back to La Paz.
