Pampas,Caracoles Lodge Tours Bolivia

The Pampas is located near the village of Santa Rosa, this is an area of Savannah (Pampa), divided by meandering rivers and characterized generally by low and open vegetation, ideal for animal observation. It has a very high diversity and abundance of fauna, especially birds, capybaras, pink dolphins, monkeys, toucans, anacondas and others.

Imagine yourself visiting the exotic Amazon rainforest.... Along the world's mightiest river.... One of the world's greatest ecosystems.

Spend your days walking through the forest surrounded by sights and sounds most people have only imagined. Explore the treetop flora and fauna from a canopy walkway....high above the forest floor.

Experience up close the cry of colorful tropical birds, the lush smell of the rainforest, countless flowers, towering trees, pink dolphins playing alongside your boat, incredible reptiles and amphibians, iridescent butterflies, and captivating monkeys. All this is available to you from the comfort of each of the 4 different lodges you will visit during the week! You will enjoy hikes in the forest by both day and night and explore small rivers and lakes by boat. Visit an Yagua Indian village where you can trade for or purchase local handicrafts. There will even be opportunities to fish for the notorious piranha.

Dine on sumptuous meals including a mixture of familiar and regional dishes. You'll be offered native fruits, vegetables, juices, fish and meat, all attractively served buffet style. Purified water is available at all times. Your Peruvian jungle guides are accomplished natutalists and have many years of experience in customer service. They go out of their way to provide you with the highest quality rainforest tour possible.

Itinerary

Duratión (3 days / 2 nights)

The Pampas region is characterized by plains and low vegetation. The main attraction is the Yacuma river where one can see yacarés (a local variety of alligator), batos, american ostriches, pink dolphins, capybaras and turtles.

Day 01 :

Arrival by plane in Rurrenabaque. Following the road to Reyes and Santa Rosa you arrive at the Caracoles Inn on the banks of the river Yacuma. In the afternoon you will be able to enjoy the diverse fauna, birds, butterflies, the famous river pink dolphins and the Yacares.

Day 02 :

Hike through the Grasslands ( Pampas ) to see the Anacondas. The vegetation here is home to capibaras, wild pigs, tapirs, frogs and crocodiles.

Day 03 :

Travel by canoe along the River Yacuma to observe the wide variety of monkey species such as Hooded Monkeys, Spider Monkeys and Howler Monkeys.

Return to Rurrenabaque after lunch.
